Privacy Policy – Expatland Global Network mobile application

Expatland Global Network mobile application (hereinafter, “Application”) is a piece of software created to facilitate connections between E-Team members. Application is operated by Expatland Global Network Pte Limited, located at 80 Robinson Road, #14-02, Singapore 068898 Singapore, company number 201731172E (hereinafter referred to as “EGN” or the “Company”).

 

Expatland Global Network Pte Limited respects the privacy of those who provide information to us in the course of us providing our services and those who use the Application. We are the data controller of information disclosed to us. On this page, we address what information we collect from you and how we use that information. By downloading and using the Application and any of its services, features or content you agree to the practice and policies set forth in this Privacy Policy and hereby acknowledge and consent to our collection, use and sharing of your information. The Application may contain links or access to external sites, apps or links that will be clearly identifiable, and we are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of any such external sites, apps or links nor do we claim that they are safe by providing a link to them.

 

The Application is not suitable for users under the age of 18 years. We do not solicit or knowingly collect personal information from users under 18 years of age, and you should not attempt to register for any of our services or applications if you are under 18 years of age. Users found to be under the age of 18 years will be removed from the platform and their information will be deleted.

 

When you contact us to make an enquiry, we will use your name and contact information to respond to you. We will then use this information to communicate with you during the provision of our services to you. We collect and update information about users of our services. We may obtain this information via direct contact with you, from third parties such as other users who refer you to us or automatically via your use of our services.

 

To better serve our users, the Company collects two basic types of information:

Personally identifiable information: This is information that personally identifies one individual from another (for example, names, e-mail addresses and other contact information). This information is voluntarily provided to us by our Application users and is used by us for the purpose of fulfilling requests or inquiries or processing registrations.

Aggregate user and tracking information: This information gives us insights on how the users are utilizing the Application. This data is anonymous and does not contain any personally identifiable information. We use this information to ensure that the Application, e-mails and marketing efforts continue to appeal to the users.

 

The Company only collects personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide, when you sign up or receive communications from us, or send us an e-mail. Examples of such personally identifiable information that you provide to us may include, among other information, your name, physical address, email address, phone number and user name.

 

When you use the Application, we may automatically collect some information about your visit using log analysis software and other aggregate tracking technologies.

The Company will not sell, exchange or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information without your consent, except to the extent required by law, in accordance with your instructions, or as identified in this Privacy Policy.

 

The Company may use your information, including personally identifiable information, for business purposes including, without limitation, the following:
(a) To improve the quality of the Application and/or our provision of services to you.
(b) To send marketing communications and informational newsletters that you have requested, opted-in to or otherwise agreed to receive.
(c) To send surveys to you.
(d) To update your user account with any information we receive from you or from third-party sources about you.

 

We sometimes contract with other companies and individuals to perform functions or services on our behalf. They may have access to personally identifiable information, such as email addresses, so that they can perform their functions; however, they are restricted from using it for purposes other than providing services for the Company.

 

In the event that the Company goes out of business or becomes insolvent or bankrupt all user information, including personally identifiable information, would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You understand and agree that such a transfer may occur, and that any party that acquires the Company or any of its assets may continue to use your personally identifiable information as set forth in this policy.

 

The Company has the right to disclose any information about you or your use of the Application without your prior permission if the Company acting in good faith believes that such action is necessary to: (a) protect and defend the rights, property or safety of Expatland Global Network Pte Limited or its partners, employees, affiliates, other users of the site, or the public; (b) enforce the Terms and Conditions for the Application; or (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties or is otherwise unlawful.

 

We may also disclose any information we have about you (including your identity) if we determine that such disclosure is necessary to satisfy applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request. We may share any information that you provide to us when we have your consent to do so, or when we need to share it in order to provide the information or service you requested.

 

ExpatlandTM may use your non-personally identifiable information it collects during the usage of Application for other purposes including without limitation, the following:
(a) To better monitor in aggregate the effectiveness of our online and offline advertising and marketing campaigns.
(b) To better monitor in aggregate how the Application is used.
(c) To ensure that the Users continue to provide relevant content.
(d) To uncover and diagnose problems with the Application.
(e) For day-to-day system administration needs.

 

The lawful bases for our processing your personal data are:
(a) Legitimate Interest: it is in our legitimate interest to process your personal data to enable us to provide you with our services and that legitimate interest is fairly balanced with your rights and freedoms.
(b) Contract: our processing of your personal data is necessary to allow us to perform contracts for your benefit.
(c) Consent: where our processing of personal data is not because of our legitimate interest or by way of performance of our contract, we may do so with your consent.

 

 We only want you to receive communication and information from us that you expect to receive, or that you have requested. Below are examples of such information or communication that you may receive from us:
– Registration confirmation e-mail messages
– New message notifications

 

Our Application settings have been designed to put you in control of the information that you receive. If you are receiving communications from us and wish to unsubscribe, you can opt-out by logging into your Application personal profile and changing your “Notifications” setting to “off”.

 

Expatland Global Network Pte Limited understands that the safety of your personal information is extremely important to you. Accordingly, the Company uses both electronic and other measures to keep your information protected from unauthorized access. Due to the nature of the Internet and related technology, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information and ExpatlandTM expressly disclaims any such obligation.

 

This Privacy Policy is effective from the date shown above. The Company reserves the right to change, alter or modify this policy for any reason at any time without notice to you. When we do so, changes in our Privacy Policy will be posted in the Application and will be effective immediately. We recommend that you check this Privacy Policy on a regular basis.

 

The Application is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age.

 

The Company does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under the age of 18 years, except for the limited circumstances described below. In the event a child under the age of 18 years submits a question to us and identifies his or her age, we may use the child’s email address for the sole purpose of responding to the child’s question on a one-time-only basis. However, we will not use the child’s email address for further contact, and we will remove the address from our records after we have initially responded.

 

The Application may include links to other websites whose privacy policies we do not control. Once you leave our Application, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting.

 

Visitors who would like to correct, update or delete any personally identifiable information may do so through the personal profile within the Application.

 

If you request the deletion or modification of your personal information maintained by us, such information may be retained for a period of time in our backup systems as a precaution against system failures. Some information may be retained for longer periods as required by law, contract or auditing requirements.

 

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), an EU regulation, impacts how organisations record, store and use personal data relating to EU residents. This legislation is designed to give you, as data subjects, greater control and new rights over how we, as a data controller (an organisation which holds your data which you may supply to us), record, store and use your data.

 

Under the GDPR (if it applies to you), you have the right to access, rectify or erase your information and should direct any request on your information to us. You also have the right to correct, update or change your information.
